When it comes to higher education there are two different types of environments which a student learns from. One of the environment is the formal environment is where a student learns in a structured and organized environment for example like a classroom. The other environment is the informal environment, which is a environment anything that is learned anything outside of a classroom independently. When it comes to helping a student to become successful and knowledgeable to develop their life and day by day to develop a students identity is by being in a formal environment. In a formal environment, it provides students with unlimited amounts of careers and professions for the future. Formal environment is the most effective when it comes to learning and also to help shape a students identity because of help from professionals, help prepare for a job or career and skills for everyday life.
In a formal environment, you are surrounded by professionals that are educated in there subject or an career. The students are being educated by the educators. For the past years, many schools are held in a formal environment and are taught by professors or teachers about a subject which they are educated in and then educate the students by test and exams and many more. For example, ” The role of a teacher is often formal and ongoing, carried out at a school or other place of formal education. In many countries, a person who wishes to become a teacher must first obtain specified professional qualifications or credentials from a university or college. These professional qualifications may include the study of pedagogy, the science of teaching. Teachers, like other professionals, may have to continue their education after they qualify, a process known as continuing professional development.”(Boundless Sociology) This quote showed a brief example of how to become a teacher, in a formal education to become a teacher you have to strict qualifiaction schools just don’t hire any teacher. Every time in a formal environment a student is always taught by a professional. ” The objective is typically a course of study, lesson plan, or a practical skill. A teacher may follow standardized curricula as determined by the relevant authority. The teacher may interact with students of different ages”( Boundless Sociology) In a formal education everything is structured, teachers have everything they need to teach the students. By being surrounded by teachers that are professionals in there subject can help a student learn, with the knowledge of a professional it can help a student learn better.
Secondly, Being in a formal environment helps prepare students for there future carriers. By being in a formal environment students have one goal to get an degree than to move to get the masters by getting a degree or masters it offers many jobs or career to students to help students be successful in the future. For instance, being in college many students go to get there masters or degree in the career which the students want to go to. In today’s world not getting an degree lowers the chances of getting a good job or even a dream job. For example, it was said “The academic and career skill credentials a college education provides often will help you to stand out among job applicants and peers that might be up for the same promotion. Additionally, expanding your skill set with a college degree can open doors to different aspects of your chosen career field that otherwise you might not get to experience development, sales and marketing, management and executive level positions.”(Centura College) Having a college degree can impact a students life,it can show jobs that the student fit in the curriculum for the job, and most of all it develops a student identity. Being in a formal environment is more than just education but develope a student. In a formal environment such as a college helps the student look for a job or a career that they are interested in., finding a good job increases confidence of students and expands the knowledge of the real word.
