Lost Highway: An Absurd Signifier
Lost Highway which is one of the best movie and maybe the best representative of neo-noir genre that is directed by David Lynch is a perfect example why people call cinema the seventh art. The movie is just like a painting that everyone that watches it can come up with some new and exciting theory. The objective reality of the movie is what draws the audience inside the movie and the audience get hooked by it. The symbols, motifs, paranoid scenes make a perfect example for a David Lynch movie. The characterization, casting choices, thrilling events in the movie delivers its message perfectly. The soundtracks are looks like they are hand-picked perfectly for each scene including the beginning and the end. Distortion, time leaps and alternative reality concepts are also major things to understand Lost Highway as well. Every scene in the movie has importance and this is what I call a must watch movie.
