Every organization is unique and has its own operating setting and sets of technical requirements. As a result, the execution of knowledge management is subject to numerous constraints that limit the progression of knowledge operations, which perpetually have negative impact on firm’s performance. By definition, knowledge is the combination of facts, analysis, trainings, and lessons learned. It includes data, information, and experience. The new paradigm is that within the organization, knowledge must be shared in order for it to grow. It has been shown that the organization that shares knowledge among its management and staff grows stronger and becomes more competitive. This is the core of knowledge management – the sharing of knowledge. This proposal approaches health information management from the viewpoint of knowledge management discourse and highlights the implementation of knowledge management as a strategic approach by health care organizations.
