Between the electrical and chemical process is the communication that one neuron that’s sending information to the next neuron. An electrical stimuli (that receives from the dendrites collecting branches of a neuron in order to take in information from alternative neurones), go through the cell body and then going down the long arm of the neuron, that is called an axon. This accelerated electrical signal moving down a neuron is called an active potential. When the electric is continually (action potential) gets to the end of the neuron (presynaptic terminal), a complex chemical reaction is triggered. In the end of a neuron are small bodies which are called synaptic vesicles. These vesicles have various chemicals called neurotransmitters. A (neurotransmitter) is a chemical messenger. The active potential that travels down the axon which will cause the release of the neurotransmitters, which next flood out of the neutron in a small space called a synapse either synaptic cleft. Neutrons don’t physically touch, alternatively are separated by minute gaps called synapses. The chemicals (neurotransmitters) get released from the neutron in a gap to go through across the gap to the next neuron.
